Role OverviewThis is a fully hands-on, onsite IT Systems & Network Administrator role.
You will:
- Be the primary person resolving IT tickets and executing technical work
- Support 200+ devices across multiple environments
- Maintain and support two server room environments
- Work alongside one additional onsite IT staff member
- Coordinate with an external IT partner (support only)
You are responsible for triage, execution, and full resolution of issues.
Key ResponsibilitiesHelpdesk & Execution- Own and resolve tickets (not routing)
- Troubleshoot hardware, network, and system issues
- Manage ticket queue and priorities
Hands-On Support- Set up and maintain workstations, POS systems, printers, RF devices
- Perform physical installs, replacements, and configurations
Network & Systems- Troubleshoot routers, switches, Wi-Fi, and firewalls
- Support hybrid on-premise / cloud environments
- Work with ISPs on outages
Operations- Support retail, warehouse, and office environments
- Coordinate vendors and ensure issue resolution
- Maintain asset inventory and documentation
Required Skills- Strong hands-on Windows environment experience
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
- Hardware troubleshooting across multiple device types
- Experience supporting 200+ endpoints
- Able to work in fast-paced operational environments
What This Role Is NOT- Not helpdesk-only
- Not a manager or coordinator role
- Not dependent on vendors
This role is for someone who does the work and owns the outcome.
Compensation$80,000 – $90,000 CAD
Work Conditions- 100% onsite in Kanata, Ontario (no remote work)
- Occasional travel to store/warehouse locations
- On call required
