About the RoleBC Research Inc. (www.bcri.ca) is looking to hire a Junior Engineering Support for a 6-month contract, with possibility to extend based on performance and work availability.
This role is primarily centred around the operation of chemical process pilot plants, with an additional focus on laboratory experiments, and assisting in equipment installation tasks.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the following research and testing activities:
- Peform literature research
- Design and develop testing procedures
- Perform bench scale tests and lab experiments
The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining safe and efficient pilot plant operations and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential to translate experimental insights into process and technology improvements.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pilot plant and laboratory experiments to support research and development objectives
- Develop, refine, and execute experimental procedures and test methods
- Interpret and report analytical data to support research and development, and process development
- Troubleshoot experimental challenges and improve testing methodologies
Skills and Qualifications- BSc or in Chemical, Mechanical, Integrated or Materials Engineering or a related field. Engineering Technicians with over 3 years experience will also be considered.
- Strong practical laboratory skills and attention to detail
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and instrumentation
- Experience with analytical method development and validation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Authorised to work in Canada
Requirements- Full time, onsite position
Salary RangeCAD$45,000 - CAD$65,000
Within this pay range, individual pay will be determined by factors including job-related skills, relevant experience, and level of education.
