OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role is vital in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient environment. Duties- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment in accordance with health and safety standards
- Stock and organize supplies, ingredients, and utensils to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Support chefs and kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks as needed
- Dispose of waste properly and ensure proper storage of perishable items
- Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment
- Assist with dishwashing duties, including cleaning pots, pans, dishes, and kitchen tools
- Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages
Qualifications- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads (up to 50 pounds)
- Knowledge of basic food safety practices is advantageous but not mandatory
- A positive attitude, reliability, and eagerness to develop culinary skills are highly valued
