Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Landscaper and machine operator to add to our team.

this role would be hands on sailing using heavy equipment to build and create high end custom landscapes with natural stone in the Muskoka area.

must be comfortable executing high end work and able to follow plans and be detailed oriented.

must be comfortable and skilled using excavator - skid steer and other heavy equipment

must be comfortable building retaining walls - patio - staircases using natural stone

looking to add a team member who Is ready to work and wanting to use their experience to help us build high quality landscapes

Duties

• Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for site preparation and construction projects
• Utilize hand tools and power tools for planting, cutting stone, etc.
• Assist with construction projects such as retaining walls, patios, walkways, and other hardscape features
• Conduct regular inspections of landscape areas to identify issues requiring attention or repair
• Maintain equipment through routine cleaning, lubrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
• Support garden care activities including soil preparation, fertilization, and pest control in accordance with horticultural best practices

Experience

• Experience operating excavator and skid steer is required
• must be comfortable using heavy equipment in the Muskoka area
• familiar with building retaining walls - patios - staircases with natural stone
• Familiarity with gardening techniques, plant care, and landscape design principles is advantageous
• Mechanical knowledge related to operating and maintaining power tools, hand tools, and small machinery such as excavators is desirable
• Experience working with irrigation systems or in construction environments is a plus but not required
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to the operation of machinery and use of tools is essential

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Seasonal

Contract length: 8-10 months

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
