LEARNING SUPPORT TEACHER
Gidgalang Ḵuuyas Naay Secondary School
An employment opportunity exists for a TEMPORARY Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Learning Support Teacher effective September 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027 at Gidgalang Ḵuuyas Naay Secondary School.
Requirements:- A university teaching major, or its equivalent, directly related to the teaching position;
- Understanding and being committed to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children;
- Completion of Level B Assessment Training course or willingness to obtain;
- High level of skills related to successful classroom management, and to the development and maintenance of a positive classroom climate;
- Experience with multi-grade classes an asset;
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, instruct and evaluate learning activities for students' strengths and for their academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs;
- Assume responsibility for the development and execution of Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans;
- Knowledge of school-based teams;
- Be prepared to provide support in creating inclusive learning environments where students are connected, supported, engaged and challenged;
- Proven interpersonal skills, work ethic and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, education assistants, parents and administrators;
- Understanding of local resources and environment;
- Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
Competitive Salary: $75,415 - $120,222 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $3,500 per annum
Travel Allowance: $1,206 per annum
Up to $2,000 relocation allowance upon submission of receipts
