Learning Support Teacher

School: Sḵ aadgaa Naay Elementary School

Employment: Temporary full-time (1.0 FTE), effective as soon as possible through June 30, 2027.

Salary: $75,415–$120,222 per year, plus a $3,500 remote and rural allowance and a $1,206 travel allowance. Relocation assistance of up to $2,000 is available upon submission of receipts.

Requirements

• A university teaching major, or equivalent, directly related to the position.
• Teacher Regulation Branch certification.
• Level B Assessment Training, or willingness to obtain it.
• Ability to plan, deliver, assess, and evaluate learning activities that address students’ academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Ability to collaborate with students, teachers, education assistants, parents, administrators, and school teams.
• Commitment to inclusive learning environments and the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
• Experience with multi-grade classes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design, instruct, assess, and evaluate educational programming for assigned students.
• Collaborate with learning services and school administrators to develop and implement Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans.
• Support positive classroom environments and inclusive learning for students.
• Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and local resources.
