Job DescriptionOur law firm is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Administrative Assistant to support daily legal and administrative operations. The successful candidate will work closely with lawyers and staff in a fast-paced professional environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare, draft, and type legal documents including wills, affidavits, briefs, and correspondence
- Proofread and format legal documents for accuracy
- Maintain confidential legal files and records
- Assist lawyers with administrative support tasks
- Schedule and manage client appointments
- Answer and direct phone calls and emails in a professional manner
- Enter and maintain client information in legal databases
- Process billing, payments, and receipts
- Perform general office duties (filing, faxing, photocopying, ordering supplies)
- Ensure compliance with office procedures and confidentiality standards
- Other administrative and legal duties as required
Qualifications- Minimum 1 year of experience in a law firm (required)
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Experience with legal software (CosmoLex is an asset)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Clear criminal record check required
- Reference from a previous law firm required
- Reliable transportation required
