The OpportunityEnviro-Ex Contracting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Lowbed Driver to transport heavy equipment to and from project sites throughout British Columbia.
This role is critical to support field operations by ensuring equipment is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Travel and remote work will be required depending on project location.
Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Transport- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload heavy equipment (excavators, dozers, loaders, etc.).
- Operate lowbed/lowboy trailers (up to 11 axles) in compliance with all regulations.
- Plan haul routes and ensure proper permits are in place when required.
- Conduct pre-trip, in-transit, and post-trip inspections.
Safety & Compliance- Follow all company safety policies and provincial transportation regulations.
- Ensure loads are properly secured and compliant with weight and dimension requirements.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and required documentation.
Equipment & Vehicle Care- Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues.
- Keep truck and trailer clean and in good working condition.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams as needed.
Team Support- Work closely with Superintendents and field crews to coordinate equipment moves.
- Assist with loading/unloading and basic site support when required.
- Maintain clear communication with dispatch and project teams.
Qualifications & SkillsExperience- Minimum 3–5 years experience operating lowbed (up to 11 axles) or heavy haul equipment.
- Experience transporting heavy civil construction equipment preferred.
Licenses & Certifications- Valid Class 1 Driver’s License (required).
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Air brake endorsement (required).
Skills- Strong understanding of load securement and hauling regulations.
- Ability to operate safely in remote and challenging conditions.
- Good communication and time management skills.
Personal Attributes- Safety-focused and reliable.
- Mechanically inclined with attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and work extended hours as required.
