Position Summary:The Maintenance Representative in the Health Care Services industry plays a critical role in ensuring that all medical and facility equipment operates safely and efficiently to support patient care and organizational operations. This position involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and timely repairs on a wide range of healthcare infrastructure and equipment. The Maintenance Rep collaborates closely with clinical staff and management to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. By proactively identifying potential issues and addressing them promptly, this role helps to create a safe and reliable environment for both patients and healthcare professionals. Ultimately, the Maintenance Representative contributes to the overall quality of care by maintaining the integrity and functionality of essential healthcare systems and equipment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on medical devices, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and other facility equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize disruption to healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment status in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to schedule maintenance activities that minimize impact on patient care and facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by adhering to established protocols and reporting any hazards or incidents.
Minimum Qualifications:- High school diploma or equivalent with completion of a technical or vocational training program in maintenance, electrical, or mechanical fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance work, preferably within a healthcare or similar regulated environment.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical equipment maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between healthcare sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:- Certification in biomedical equipment maintenance or healthcare facility management.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Canadian health and safety regulations specific to healthcare facilities.
- First aid and CPR certification.
- Post-secondary education in a related technical field.
