Salary range for the position is $108,147 to $155,461. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
How will you make an impact?The Manager, Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Services (Manager) is a member of the MHSU Leadership Team and acts in an advisory capacity to the Network Director, MHSU in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of services within the program to meet the needs of the residents of Interior Health (IH). Working collaboratively with the MHSU Network and Clinical Operations senior leadership teams, the Manager provides the strategic oversight and direction for assigned program(s) to develop systems and processes that improve patient care, population health, and are operationally sound. Through organization-wide standardization and adherence to statutory responsibilities, the Manager ensures clear direction for the provision of care and integration of services throughout the MHSU programs across IH. The Manager collaborates in a dyad relationship with a designated physician leader and is responsible for building effective relationships with internal and external partners, including Indigenous and community partners, to understand service needs and ensure plans are comprehensive and informed by meaningful partner engagement. Externally, the Manager represents IH on issues related to program standards, statutory responsibilities, and the fulfillment of provincial directions in health by maintaining ongoing, working relationships across local, regional, provincial, and national programs and committees.
What will you work on?Maintains a strong awareness of current issues and trends in mental health and substance use care, as well as current and emerging evidence and population needs across the Interior region. Proactively identifies improvement opportunities based on this awareness.
In collaboration with the Network Director, develops an integrated and networked health delivery system that improves the health status of IH communities in an effective and sustainable manner. Working with other IH portfolios, provides an integrated system of MHSU care services with the following objectives:
- Achieve improved health outcomes for patients with moderate to severe mental illnesses and/or substance use disorders.
- Provide effective access and navigation of the community-based healthcare system for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Engage patients, families, and their caregivers and communities as full partners in health- care delivery.
- Reduce per capita costs for target populations on the terms, conditions and under-standings set out in the Bilateral Agreement.
- Provide services and establish partnerships to promote health and prevent illness in individuals, families, and other targeted populations.
