Reporting to the Coordinator, the Medical Imaging Receptionist greets, positively identifies and registers patients upon their arrival at modalities, accurately entering missing demographic information, clinical history, referring physician or exam ordered. The Receptionist validates health card information and/or inputs correct billing providers to ensure accurate revenue. The receptionist fields incoming phone calls and relays messages to appropriate departments and staff. The receptionist ensures all related paperwork is available and ready for the technologist before the patient arrives for their exam.
Regular Part-Time and Temporary Part-Time available
Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week (no guarantee of hours)
Rate of pay: $29.01 per hour - $36.25 per hour
Qualifications- Successful completion of a health care office admin certificate, medical office admin certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the Hospital
- Proficiency in computer and keyboarding skills, i.e., Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Electronic Patient Record, Workload Measurement
- Demonstrated proficient communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Effective organizational skills involving time management, prioritization and the ability to problem solve while ensuring attention to details
- Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well and independently with minimum supervision in a team environment
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
