Our busy family medicine office, comprised of three practices (Drs. Runk, Porter, and McNaull), requires a temporary part-time medical office assistant. This person will work under the direction of the physicians and alongside our other administrative and nursing staff to manage and run all aspects of the medical practices.
This position is needed to start immediately and will end August 27, 2026. The hours are Monday to Thursday, 1 pm to 5 pm.
Duties:- answering phones
- interacting with patients in person
- booking appointments
- communicating results to patients
- managing referrals
- managing correspondence/faxes/scanning
- managing billings
- keeping track of medical instrument and supply levels
- supply ordering
- maintaining office cleanliness
- managing patient experience and flow within the office
- chaperoning physicians for certain exams
Qualifications:Candidates with a Medical Secretary Diploma or similar experience in a health care setting, or students training in a health-care related field, will be considered. Familiarity with electronic medical records, medical terminology and OHIP billing is an asset.
Required Skills:Effective communication, team work, and interpersonal skills are essential to this position. Successful candidates will have superior time management and organizational abilities and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Pay will be commensurate with experience.
