The National Credit Manager/ Assistant Vice President provides supervision, leadership, guidance and necessary training for the Credit Managers, Credit Analysts and Senior Credit Analysts within the Canadian underwriting team. Analyze, evaluate, and approve/decline credit requests within authorized lending limits. Provide ongoing input into credit policy and credit processes required to evolve the credit underwriting department. Liaise with dealership senior management and GMF sales team regarding credit application activity and decisions.

In this role you will:- Analyze, approve, and escalate credit requests, including overrides and policy exceptions, within established lending authorities
- Review credit applications exceeding lending limits and present recommendations to senior management for approval or decline
- Manage credit decision escalations and resolve dealer and customer complaints within authorized parameters
- Analyze consumer and commercial lease portfolio performance to enhance underwriting processes and controls
- Serve as the senior escalation point for complex and high‑risk credit transactions
- Deliver ongoing credit training and develop coaching materials for underwriting and sales teams
- Provide daily coaching and guidance to Credit Managers and credit analysts through deal reviews and concurrence requests
- Conduct performance management activities, including appraisals, feedback sessions, and corrective action planning
- Ensure effective credit department operations that support business objectives and timely credit processing
- Lead special projects, policy development, budgeting, hiring, dealer engagement, and market/dealer credit analysis to improve competitiveness
What makes you an ideal candidate?- Excellent report writing and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Successful Candidate must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
- Vehicle and/or leasing experience is a requirement.
Education & Work Experience- Bachelors Degree in related field or equivalent work experience required
- 10 years of previous credit analysis experience preferred
Bilingual in French is preferred but not required
