Role

Network & Automation Technician
Location: Montréal, Quebec
Full-time role with the Telecommunications team.

Responsibilities

  • Support PLC, SCADA, DCS, industrial automation systems, and industrial networks.
  • Assist with configuration, testing, troubleshooting, integration, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Perform communications checks, I/O testing, loop checks, functional testing, and verification of control panels, cabinets, and field wiring.
  • Support FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and technical support at industrial sites or remotely.
  • Prepare and update technical drawings, I/O lists, network information, test sheets, reports, equipment lists, and as-built documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, project managers, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Prepare, configure, and test equipment before shipment or site deployment.

Qualifications

  • College diploma in automation, controls, electrical engineering technology, electronics, networking, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, DCS, industrial automation systems, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Able to read electrical drawings, control schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, computer, and technical documentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 40% of the year, including internationally, and to work at industrial sites or support extended commissioning activities.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English is required.
