Job DescriptionWe are seeking a reliable Truck Driver to join our team. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials over short or long distances.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, such as forklifts or hand trucks
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance, such as checking oil levels and tire pressure
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time of arrival and departure, mileage, and any incidents or delays
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers and addressing any concerns or issues that arise during deliveries
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and security
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and warehouse staff
- Perform routine maintenance on the truck as needed
- Ensure timely deliveries and pick-ups
Qualifications- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Previous experience as a truck driver or in a similar role is preferred (Commercial driving: 3 years (required), Driving: 5 years (required))
- Ability to operate a skid steer or other material handling equipment is desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks (Heavy lifting: Ability to lift heavy objects and load/unload cargo as required)
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members (Proficient in customer service and communication skills)
- Proficient in loading, unloading, and federal load securement to ensure safe transportation
- Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and ability to safely operate a commercial truck
- Familiarity with warehouse operations is a plus
- Experience with forklift operation is an advantage
