The Opportunity: OT Network and SCADA TechnicianPermanent, Full-Time unit position, based out of Whitehorse, Yukon.
Compensation: Level 9: $51.44/hr-$61.44/hr PLUS Northern Allowance.

Yukon Energy is looking for an OT Network & SCADA Specialist to support and maintain the networks and systems that power communities across the territory. Help ensure reliable, secure communications between our plants, substations, and control center.
What will you do: As a key member of the Operations team, you will:- Maintain and support OT network infrastructure and SCADA systems across generation, transmission, and distribution environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network and system issues to ensure reliable, secure communications between the SCC, substations, plants, and remote sites.
- Support system upgrades, configurations, and technical projects, contributing to network design and continuous improvement.
- Provide hands-on field support alongside network administration in a high-availability, safety-critical environment.
What you need to succeed: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Network Administration or other related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in network and/or systems administration within an IT or OT infrastructure environment.
- Experience supporting SCADA or industrial control systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of OT networking, including switching, routing, and network segmentation.
- Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure communications.
- Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443
- Experience with industrial protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3).
- Experience with server administration and virtualization platforms.
- Familiarity with PLCs, RTUs, and smart grid technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support concurrent projects with effective planning and organizational skills.
- Adaptability to evolving technologies and operational requirements.
- Effective communication and collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders across departments.
- High attention to detail with strong documentation discipline.
- Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in an electrical utility is an asset
Compensation: Level 9: $51.44/hr-$61.44/hr PLUS Northern Allowance.
