CMHA Halton is seeking a motivated and compassionate Peer Support Assistant for an 8 week full time Canada Summer Jobs placement. This non clinical role is ideal for recent graduate or someone who has lived experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges and is interested in supporting others through peer based support.
The Peer Support Assistant will provide group peer support, both virtually and within community settings across the Halton region, to individuals currently receiving services through CMHA Halton programs. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Peer Assistant will support people engaging in services by sharing lived experience, promoting recovery oriented practices, and encouraging self determination. The Peer Support Assistant will also support broader Peer Services initiatives, including collecting peer feedback, assessing ongoing engagement, maintaining the Mailchimp distribution list, and contributing to the development of the program manual and welcome package.
