Position Summary:Ashwood Glen School is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to support our students in developing healthy habits, teamwork skills, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. The successful candidate will work with students across the elementary grades, delivering structured and engaging physical education lessons aligned with the school’s philosophy of student well-being and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Physical Education lessons for students in elementary grades - aligned with IB PYP framework and Ontario curriculum expectations.
- Promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles.
- Organize structured activities that develop motor skills, coordination, and confidence.
- Supervise students during physical education classes and related activities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students during physical activity.
- Collaborate with colleagues on unit planning, curriculum intergration and student support
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, and overall physical and social development
- Support occasional school sports activities or special events when applicable.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development initiatives.
- Contribute positively to the school’s professional and collaborative culture
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or experience teaching physical education to children is preferred.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to create a positive and energetic learning environment.
- First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset.
