Bayview Glen is currently looking for a Preschool Lead Educator for a one year contract, starting in August, 2026. Reporting to the Preschool Director, you will lead a Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based program that supports the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of children aged 18 months to 4 years.

What You’ll Be Doing:- Planning and implementing a Reggio-inspired, inquiry-based preschool program aligned with How Does Learning Happen?, ELECT, and CCEYA
- Designing daily and weekly learning experiences across developmental domains, including early numeracy, literacy, science, social studies, co-regulation, social – emotional learning, music, movement, dramatic play, and nature-based exploration
- Maintaining safe, organized, engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments aligned with Toronto Public Health standards and CCEYA compliance where children develop a sense of belonging
- Observing, documenting, and assessing children’s learning through daily notes, Learning Stories, and photos to support ongoing planning
- Identifying potential developmental or behavioural concerns and collaborating with the Preschool Director, families, and external supports when needed
- Leading classroom planning meetings and maintaining responsibility for program development, instructional decisions, and documentation
- Mentoring Associate Preschool Educators, student teachers, and volunteers in best practices, reflective teaching, and the school’s professional expectations
- Maintaining ongoing, transparent, and supportive communication with families through daily conversations, Learning Stories, Edsby updates, and scheduled meetings
What You’ll Need:- Registered Early Childhood Educator (R.E.C.E.) in good standing
- Post secondary education in Early Childhood Development or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children in the Early Years
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to adjust style to communicate to different audiences (i.e., children, parents, staff, etc.)
- Demonstrated creativity, flexibility and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to adapt learning plans, strategies and methods when the classroom approaches are not getting measurable results
- Ability to work independently with assigned tasks and collaboratively with classroom educators and other staff members
- Excellent knowledge of child development and the latest education theories and practices, including the Reggio Emilia approach
- Strong interpersonal skills with a warm, welcoming and engaging demeanor
- Valid child and infant First Aid/CPR certification
- Up to date Immunizations and new TB results
