Principal Enterprise Architect

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Develop enterprise vision and target-state architecture for CNB and assigned business domains, aligned with RBC’s OneRBC vision. Lead enterprise technology roadmaps, advise programs and projects, and promote architecture standards and best practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architectures, reference architectures, design patterns, and technology roadmaps.
• Promote the adoption of architecture standards, principles, and best practices.
• Collaborate across RBC, CUSO, and CNB to establish solution requirements and address design deficiencies.
• Analyze industry trends and future technologies; prepare and present architecture strategies to review councils and executives.
• Drive software, application, and infrastructure rationalization.
• Establish reusable frameworks, processes, and methodologies to help manage organizational risk.
• Mentor less experienced architects and build relationships with business and IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• At least 12 years of enterprise integration design, development, and implementation experience.
• At least 12 years of experience with Microsoft .NET or Java/Linux development.
• At least 3 years in technical leadership and 3 years as a Senior Enterprise Architect or in a comparable senior management role.
• At least 2 years of Azure and/or AWS cloud implementation experience.
• Experience with large-scale enterprise platforms, APIs, DevOps, infrastructure, information security, and databases.
• TOGAF certification and knowledge of the Zachman framework.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, XP, FDD, TDD, and SAFe.
