Private In-Home Caregiver — Senior Support
We are a private family seeking a full time compassionate, reliable caregiver to provide in-home support for a family member in Regina, Saskatchewan. This is a meaningful role supporting end-of-life care in a respectful home environment. You would be joining a small, consistent care team focused on dignity, routine, comfort, companionship, and family communication.
About the roleThe caregiver will provide daily support that may include:
- Personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility support, and safe transfers
- Meal preparation and hydration support
- Light homemaking, including dishes, laundry, tidying, and helping keep the home safe, clean, and comfortable
- Companionship, conversation, emotional support, and meaningful engagement throughout the day
- Coordinated care to reduce confusion and create a consistent daily routine
- Fall prevention and general safety awareness
- Encouraging light activity, mobility, time outside, and social connection where appropriate
- Supporting follow-through with prescribed physiotherapy exercises, as directed by the family/health care team
- Accurate daily care log completion, including health/wellness observations
- Communication with the family coordinator about changes, concerns, or supply needs.
- Occasional support for household inventory, groceries, and basic home needs
Ideal candidateWe are looking for someone who is:
- Compassionate, calm, patient, and emotionally mature
- Experienced with senior care, dementia/memory loss, palliative care, or complex care needs
- Comfortable providing companionship and emotional support, not just task-based care
- Comfortable supporting someone who may experience confusion, anxiety, repetitive questions, or high-stress moments
- Reliable and interested in building a consistent relationship over time
- Comfortable learning family routines, cues, sensitivities, and preferences
- Able to communicate clearly and respectfully with family members
- Respectful of privacy, dignity, and the emotional nature of end-of-life care
- Able to complete written or digital care logs accurately
Schedule[Days/times — e.g. Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. / rotating shifts / part-time or full-time options]
Minimum shift length may apply. Additional hours or extended shifts may be available as care needs change.
Rate$24-27/hour, based on experience and fit. Higher rate may be considered for strong palliative care, dementia care, or complex personal-care experience.
Requirements- Previous caregiving, health care aide, companion care, dementia care, or palliative care experience preferred
- References required
- Criminal record check / vulnerable sector check may be required
- Must be dependable, kind, and comfortable working in a private family home
