Job Title: Senior IT Procurement Specialist
Location: Edmonton, AB /Remote – Preferred local candidates
Duration: 12 months with possible extension
Client: Public Sector
Pay Rate: $90/hr - $95/hr (CAD)
Mandatory Skills:- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Public Administration, or a related field
- 10-12 Years of experience in leading end-to-end technology procurement lifecycle, including RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and other RFX processes from planning to contract award.
- Must hold SCMA, SCMP, CPPO, CPPB, CSPM, or other recognized procurement certification
- Develop, review, and manage complex vendor contracts, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal frameworks.
- Provide strategic procurement advisory to business leaders, project teams, and senior stakeholders on sourcing approaches and risk mitigation.
- Execute procurement activities in alignment with Canadian public sector regulations and trade agreements (e.g., CETA, CFTA, CUSMA, NWPTA).
- Support procurement for IT and digital initiatives, including software, hardware, cloud platforms, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Conduct vendor evaluations, scoring, and selection processes, including leading evaluation committees and supplier debriefings.
- Analyze pricing models, cost structures, and contract risks to ensure value-for-money and commercial viability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define procurement strategies, timelines, and resource requirements for multiple concurrent projects.
- Prepare and present procurement documentation and recommendations to governance committees and executive stakeholders.
- Track and report on procurement progress, milestones, risks, and issues, ensuring timely resolution and project alignment.
- Support project planning and execution by developing procurement schedules, work plans, and deliverables.
- Mentor and guide team members on procurement best practices, ensuring transparency, fairness, and efficiency in all sourcing activities.
