Al Green TheatreThe Al Green Theatre is an accessible performance and cinema venue located within the Miles Nadal JCC in Toronto. The Theatre serves as a multi-use cultural space supporting a range of events, including film screenings, live performances, lectures, and community-based programming.
The Theatre’s programming reflects the richness and diversity of contemporary Jewish culture and offers a mix of artistic and community-focused events, including theatre, music, film, speaker series, and cultural/civic programs.
Position SummaryThe Production Manager, Al Green Theatre oversees production planning, internal communications, stage management, front-of-house operations, workforce planning, staffing, scheduling, and theatre administration. The role serves as the primary liaison for artists, presenters, technical crews, front-of-house staff, volunteers, and internal teams, fostering clear communication, coordinating cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring the seamless planning and execution of productions and events. While informed by technical theatre practices and equipment, this position is focused on production management, operational and administrative leadership rather than hands-on technical execution. All work within the organization ladders up to the strategic plan.

Salary $65,000 to $72,000, annually (commensurate with experience)
Primary Duties And ResponsibilitiesProduction & Event Management- Oversee the planning and execution of performances, film screenings, rentals, festivals, and Al Green Theatre programming
- Develop and maintain production schedules, event timelines, run-of-show documents, and event plans
- Act as stage manager or production lead, when required
- Coordinate artists, presenters, volunteers, front-of-house teams, and internal departments
- Deliver productions in a safe, organized, and professional manner in line with organizational standards
- Support the Senior Director, Al Green Theatre with departmental budget administration
- Work with the Senior Director to support delivery of the theatre’s artistic vision and programming priorities
- Work alongside the Al Green Theatre leadership team to ensure payroll administration is completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director, Al Green Theatre & Bookings to coordinate technical staffing, scheduling, rentals, and operational logistics
- Support delivery of major festivals, events, and special projects as assigned
Front-of-House Leadership- Lead front-of-house operations for events, ensuring safe, organized, and efficient audience experience
- Recruit, schedule, supervise, and support ushers, volunteers, concessions staff, and event personnel
- Act as front-of-house lead during assigned events; respond to patron concerns and operational issues and escalate when required
- Provide training, direction, and ongoing support to front-of-house staff and volunteers
- Coordinate audience flow, accessibility supports, and venue readiness in line with safety and operational requirements
