Reporting to the Manager, Risk, Safety and Security in both the Training and Workforce Development and Safety Division, the Program Assistant, Safety and Training will provide college-wide, implementation, delivery, evaluation, and follow-up of Division courses and programs, safety committees, college related safety matters, brokered services, special projects of both safety and training, and sponsored and employer-based training programs.
What you will be doing:- Attend and participate in employer/agency/instructor safety meetings;
- Maintain records of staff/student/visitor incidents and assist with insurance certificate requests;
- Comple WSIB communication, ensuring timely reporting of incidents, and updating safety statistics for the college, board, and Joint Health and Safety Committee;
- Assist in the delivery of educational and safety awareness programs to the College Community;
- Assist in maintaining the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) online system;
- Prepare and plan the annual Health & Safety general meeting and training;
- Coordinate the delivery of training courses and programs, including researching new programs/courses, pre-screening instructors, entering program data, arranging training, and reviewing compliance requirements;
- Prepare and organize promotional, instructional, and program materials, and distribute departmental/College materials;
- Prepare course notifications, register students, and notify clients/staff of upcoming events or experiences; and
- Prepare purchase orders, invoice requests, reconciliation reports, and process mail.

What you will need to be considered:- Two (2) year Diploma in Office Administration or an equivalent/related field of study;
- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with computer software such as word processors, spreadsheets and databases, and management information systems;
- Health and Safety experience is considered an asset; and
- Class G Driver’s license is considered an asset.
The successful candidate will be organized, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will be adaptable and poses excellent problem-solving skills, written and verbal communication skills, and time-management skills.
