DescriptionReporting to the Supervisor, Procurement, the Project Buyer is a site-based role responsible for executing the timely and effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services to support project activities and day-to-day requirements. This role will operate independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, demanding project environment and requires strong judgement, fully developed knowledge, responsiveness, and practical procurement experience, with a focus on securing the best overall value for Ledcor and its clients.
Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Project Controls, and other project stakeholders, the Project Buyer ensures procurement activities align with project priorities, schedule, and site needs providing guidance and advice as needed. The role also maintains compliance with company and client policies, procedures, and ethical sourcing requirements, including modern slavery standards.

Essential Responsibilities:- Executes end-to-end procurement of materials, equipment, and services aligned with specific procurement plans required for the project applying best practice
- Ensures purchasing decisions balance price, delivery timelines, quality and supplier reliability to support the construction schedule
- Collaborate and align with the Shared Procurement team by actively communicating project requirements, supplier insights, and procurement activity, while leveraging corporate agreements, tools, and expertise to support consistent practices and maximize value across the organization
- Works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Project Controls to align procurement strategies with project priorities
- Proactively identifies risks to material availability within the project scope. Advises and takes actions in accordance to established procurement plans, policies, and supplier agreements to avoid delays, escalating issues as required
- Serve as a resource for colleagues
- Creates and manages purchase orders and change orders to support on-site project requirements ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement policies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as AP to resolve complex supplier, commercial, and invoicing issues quickly
- Builds and maintains strong working relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and responsiveness
- Identifies alternative suppliers when required to support project needs.
- Ensures procurement activities follow company and client requirements
- Identifies and escalates project level risks that could impact cost, schedule, or delivery. Advises the business and project team on recommended solutions based on established practices
Qualifications:- Minimum of 5 years of on-site procurement experience in industrial construction or similar project environments
- Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure, site-based roles
- Describe other preferred experience required for the position, including length and in what capacity (e.g., operational, management level)
- Experience supporting large-scale construction or industrial projects
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and commercial practices
- Experience with industrial construction materials and equipment
- Ability to manage competing priorities and urgent requests
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a site environment
- Experience with procurement systems (Coupa, JD Edwards, Smart Materials or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
Working Conditions:- This is a site based 14x7 rotational position based out of Logan Lake, BC
