QualificationsMINIMUM FORMAL EDUCATION/TRAINING:- Undergraduate degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related health/social sciences field is required.
- Master's degree in is psychology, social work, nursing, or a related health/social sciences field is preferred.
- Undergraduate or Master's degree in psychology, social work, nursing, or a related health/social sciences field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:- Minimum of three years of directly related experience with at least one year of experience in psychology, education, social work, or related service settings required.
- Experience collaborating with a multi-person team in an online or hybrid work environment strongly preferred.
- Experience with community-based organizations supporting children and families preferred.
- Familiarity with REDCap or other electronic data capture tools preferred.
- Experience with project budget coordination and/or financial processing preferred.
- Experience working with websites or eHealth-related platforms preferred.
- Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) is an asset.
- Experience supporting Indigenous family well-being or working with Indigenous communities is an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work respectfully with diverse teams and communities required.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills required.
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision required.
- Proficiency in using online communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams, OSF, Slack, Google Docs) required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
- Cultural safety and trauma-informed communication skills considered an asset.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:- Must complete research ethics training (CORE) and personal health information training (PHIA).
- Must complete specialized research tools training as required by the project.
- Must successfully clear a Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Must complete the 8-week anti-racism training offered by the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba.
Key responsibilities- Coordinate program delivery, including meeting with participants and community members partners, reviewing questionnaire and focus group data, Lead the planning and coordination of community events and weekly programming at local community organizations, and discussing recommended family mental health resources.
- Coordinate, contribute to and be knowledgeable to the ethics-approved project guidelines and follow all necessary procedures.
- Ensures the collection of data per the protocol and entry into the case report form or study specific electronic data capture tool (e.g. REDCAP) in a timely manner within guidelines while ensuring data quality, via data cleaning and query resolution.
- Maintains and updates existing research protocols with supervisory input on items such as curriculum material development, intervention, and ethics protocols.
- Liaises with the various groups to support research activities (University of Manitoba Departments ORS, REB and various HSC Departments, the Manitoba Métis Federation, the First Nations Health and Social Secretariat of Manitoba, etc.).
- Assists in participant recruitment efforts by coordinating with local service organizations and developing recruitment materials and packages and maintaining records of participant information and data.
- Culturally Safe Engagement: Ensure research practices and participant engagement are culturally appropriate and trauma-informed, aligning with Indigenous community protocols and values.
- Training & Mentorship: Support and mentor research assistants or trainees, particularly those from Indigenous communities, in data collection, recruitment, and program delivery.
- Logistics Coordination: Manage logistics related to research visits, such as travel arrangements for team members and community partners.
- Communicates with community service organizations and health providers about lab activities by phone, email, and in- person meetings, as needed.
