Location: Regina – preferably. To start with work will be remote (i.e. working from a home office) with the potential to move into a Red Leaf satellite office/Regina office as they are established.
Travel Requirements: 25% per month on average

Position Summary:Red Leaf Pulp is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Engineer with a background in Civil engineering to be part of the project engineering team tasked with taking the Regina facility from a 30% design level up to IFC, through construction and into an operating plant. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role is critical in ensuring that all assigned areas of the plant have the necessary engineering work packages created, managed and completed. The Project Engineer will work closely with the Red Leaf process engineers, CAD team, document control team, construction management team, engineering sub-consultants and OEM suppliers to ensure that assigned areas of the plant are delivered in a timely and cost effective manner resulting in the successful construction and operation of the facility. The Project Engineer will also be involved in the development of other Red Leaf facilities.
Key Responsibilities:Project Engineer- Develop engineering work packages for assigned areas of the plant.
- Develop procurement packages for sub-consultants and OEM suppliers.
- Manage sub-consultants and OEM suppliers to ensure they deliver on all phases of the project including 30% design finalization (as required), 60% design, 90% design, Issued For Construction design, construction, commissioning and operation. This may require travel to sub-consultant’s and OEM supplier’s offices.
- Track/report on progress of engineering work packages.
- Support construction including RFI’s, site visits/inspections, turnover packages and sign off.
- Ensure that 3D models are kept up to date for assigned areas of the plant by working with Red Leaf’s CAD team.
- Manage/develop Red Leaf’s civil engineering standards as required.
- Provide civil engineering expertise to the greater Red Leaf team as required.
- Work with Red Leaf’s document control team to ensure document control processes are being adhered to for assigned areas of the plant.
- Lead/participate in HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies, constructability reviews and operability assessments.
Collaboration with other Project Engineers and Process Engineers- Collaborate with other Red Leaf project engineers as they manage the development of engineering work packages for other areas of the plant to ensure transitions areas between work packages are in alignment
- Collaborate with Red Leaf process engineers to ensure process engineering aspects of the engineering work packages are addressed.
Future Red Leaf Facilities- Provide civil engineering input into future Red Leaf facility locations.
Requirements:Qualifications & Experience- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Equivalent technical education or experience may be acceptable.
