We are seeking a Project Manager - Estimator who leads by example, takes full ownership of projects, and ensures that both work quality and team performance meet the highest standards.
The RoleThe Project Manager is responsible for the independent oversight and execution of the company’s diverse construction portfolio, ranging from high-end residential builds to large-scale civil and commercial developments. Acting as the primary bridge between the design/estimate phase and field completion, this role ensures that every project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining total accountability for job site safety, subcontractor coordination, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the full project lifecycle for civil and commercial jobs and residential projects
- Lead estimation efforts on all landscape construction projects
- Perform regular site visits to monitor progress, ensure quality control, and enforce safety protocols
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, developers, and general contractors for projects under your responsibility
- Negotiate with and manage subcontractors
- Review and approve project-related invoices and track real-time job costing against estimates
- Coordinate with the Fleet Mechanic to ensure necessary heavy machinery is available and serviced for site arrival
- Lead weekly site meetings with Foremen to review production goals and obstacles.
- Manage municipal permitting, locates, and inspections for civil and commercial sites.
- Facilitate final walkthroughs and manage the work identified in the "deficiencies list" to ensure 100% project completion and client satisfaction
Qualifications- Extensive Experience in High-End Landscape Construction & Civil Work (3–5+ years)
- Experience with Irrigation Installation and Irrigation layout
- Proficiency in Project Software & Scheduling
- Exceptional Budgeting and Cost Control
- Ability to Read Technical Plans & Design Software
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License & Machine Operation Knowledge
- Leadership & Client Communication Skills
Nice to Have- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SketchUp to clarify details with designers and clients.
- Professional project management training
- Trade Certification or Diploma (Red Seal or Horticulture)
- A Red Seal endorsement as a Landscape Horticulturist is a major asset
