Job Summary:The Project Officer supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of electrical components for various projects. This role assists in ensuring all electrical work aligns with technical requirements, project objectives, and applicable standards. Responsibilities include supporting project coordination, preparing documentation and contracts, conducting site visits, monitoring project progress, gathering information, and helping ensure compliance throughout all stages of the project.
Responsibilities:- Assist with the planning, coordination and execution of projects, with a focus on electrical scopes.
- Review drawings, specifications and technical documents to support project delivery.
- Support the preparation of contracts, scopes of work and other project documentation.
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, verify work quality and ensure compliance with safety and project standards.
- Track project schedules, budgets and deliverables, and report on progress and any variances.
- Assist in reviewing invoices, change orders and contractor submissions for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify potential risks or issues and support the implementation of corrective actions.
- Maintain organized project records, including correspondence, reports, and approvals.
- Provide general administrative and technical support to the project team as required.
Qualifications:- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in electrical projects, construction, maintenance, or project coordination.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, technical drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Experience with project documentation, contract preparation, and site inspections is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence and ability to travel to project sites as required.
- CAPM or PMP certification is considered an asset.
