If this sounds like you, Bench Law Office LLP is seeking a full-time Real-Estate Legal Assistant to work based at our office in Calgary, AB.
Responsibilities Include:- Administering and preparation of the real-estate conveyance matters throughout the pre-closing, closing and post-closing stages.
- Supporting the requirements of the acting lawyer, co-operating with other staff, ensuring follow-up, timeliness and accuracy while nagotiating the conveyancing.
- Performing intial due deligence searches such as titles, encumbrances, corporation. Can identify issues to bring into attention.
- Positive communication with clients and strict adherence to client confidentiality.
- Completing Lender commitments and identifying terms for document preparation for satisfaction of pre-funding conditions .
- Preparation and delivery of lender and client reportings.
- Obtaining information and instructions from clients and forwarding to lawyer.
- Assist various parties associated with real-estate conveyance as well as with the preparation and registration of requisite documentation.
- Administrative duties required, such as: handling incoming phone calls, mail, faxes, emails, closing files, photocopying, etc.
- Organizing files and keeping all electronic and physical filing up to date
- Reviewing and summarizing legislative updates.
- Ensuring the management of all legal administrative related duties.
Requirements:- Must be able to work in fast-paced setup to fulfill short notice deadlines with contineous workload.
- Must have a minimum of atleast 1-2 years previous experience as a Legal Assistant in real estate law (no trainees).
- Strong knowledge of real estate legal practices and principles.
- Experience with any conveyance softwares like Prolegis, UNITY, LDD ( or simillar) is required.
- Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize files and manage multiple deadlines, Self-starter able to take direction and to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Skilled in the areas of attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, dependability, and organization.
- Must have experience with residential/commercial real estate practice and procedure, including purchases, sales, mortgages and refinancing.
- Successful completion of a related post-secondary Legal Assistant or Law Clerk program (optional)
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Suite of Applications.
Schedule:- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:legal assistant/ Paralegal 1-2 years (must required)
Valid class 5 Driver's License and having own vehicle is an asset.
Ability to communicate in Punjabi or Hindi or Urdu is an asset but not a requirement.
