Job Summary

The RECE Supervisor at Little Grove Academy is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the centre while ensuring compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA). This role provides leadership, mentorship, and operational oversight to a team of educators while supporting the delivery of a high-quality, curriculum-based early learning program for children aged 18 months to 4 years.

We are seeking a confident and experienced leader who is passionate about early learning, team development, and creating a positive, well-run centre environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Leadership & Operations

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the centre
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, policies, and procedures under the CCEYA
• Maintain staff schedules and ensure ratios are consistently met
• Provide leadership, coaching, and ongoing support to RECEs and Assistants
• Support hiring, onboarding, and staff performance management

Program & Curriculum Oversight

• Ensure programming aligns with How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (HDLH)
• Support educators in planning and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate programs
• Monitor classroom environments to ensure quality, safety, and consistency

Family & Community Engagement

• Act as a primary point of contact for families
• Foster positive, professional relationships with parents and caregivers
• Address questions, concerns, and communication in a timely and supportive manner

Administration & Compliance

• Maintain accurate records and required documentation
• Support licensing inspections and Ministry requirements
• Ensure health, safety, and sanitation standards are consistently upheld

Education and Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
• Minimum 2 years experience working in a licensed, curriculum-based childcare centre
• 1–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting
• Strong working knowledge of How Does Learning Happen? and play-based learning approaches
• Current Standard First Aid & CPR-C
• Vulnerable Sector Check
