JOB TITLE: Women's Recovery Support Worker

AVAILABLE POSITIONS - 1 - Casual/Part Time

REPORTS TO: Recovery House Manager

DEPARTMENT: Department of Recovery

For over 26 years, Harvest House Atlantic (www.harvesthouseatlantic.org), located in Moncton, NB, has actively supported those struggling with homelessness, addiction, and mental health issues.

We are seeking men and women supervisors/case workers to help manage the day-to-day operations and client support of our Recovery programs.

People Focused Duties:

• Ensure that residents are always supervised and supported by being present on the premises at all times.
• Provide informal counselling/mentorship with residents. Incorporate trauma-informed, client centered principals in everyday engagement.
• Conduct one-on-one discussions with residents to discuss issues as the arise and resolve any disputes.
• Utilize active listening and supportive response skills to support resolution of daily challenges.
• Maintain order by ensuring that all residents are aware of house policies and living agreements.
• Complete paperwork/cleaning/food prep as directed by the Manager.
• Conduct House checks at regular intervals throughout the day/night.
• Support general maintenance in the House.
• Oversee the chore schedule for the following day.
• Other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

• Ability to deescalate crisis situations.
• Ability to communicate using verbal and nonverbal cues.
• Ability to support vulnerable people living with addictions and mental health challenges.
• Client database and case management reporting

Open Schedules:

• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Night shift
• On call or weekends as needed.

Education:

• Post Secondary Diploma required
• Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health or similar experience preferred
• Bachelors Degree considered an asset
• Minimum one year experience

Mandatory Skills and Certifications:

• First Aid CPR – C
• CRC/VSS
• ASIST
• NVCI
• Office 365, MS Office
• Clean Drivers Abstract

Benefits:

FOR CASUAL/PART-TIME positions - After 90 days of continuous employment, you are entitled to use the vacation days accrued credits from the start of your employment and you are eligible for a Statutory pay IF you worked on the Public Holiday.

Six-month probationary contract

Salary: $20.00 per hour
