About the RoleReporting to the Plant Manager, the Refinery Learning & Development Coordinator leads and coordinates refinery training activities. This role leverages technical expertise and team-building skills to develop, manage, and engage the workforce in all training aspects and is part of the Global Technical Training Center of Excellence (CoE).
What You’ll Do- Apply Continuous Colleague Development (CCD) 2.0 tools to deliver Focused and World-Class Training Initiatives
- Partner with leadership to identify improvement opportunities, define KPIs, and measure training effectiveness
- Support safe, reliable, and efficient refinery operations
- Deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions
- Lead CCD execution using the PE Model (Assess, Plan, Model, Replicate, Sustain)
- Provide coaching, escalation, and accountability through Review & Response meetings
- Report progress monthly to stakeholders
- Mentor employees and foster a high-performance culture
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, regulatory standards, and MoC processes
- Lead new hire training and mentoring programs
- Collaborate with SMEs, trainers, engineers, supervisors, and EHS teams
- Maintain, update, and audit training materials and procedures
- Deliver training via coaching, field instruction, small groups, and formal sessions
- Support additional operational needs as assigned
- Act as backup for Formulator and Shipping Supervisor
- Act as backup for Shift Supervisor
What You Bring- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Results-driven with strong leadership and motivational skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking ability
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (Alchemy/Coursemill) preferred
Working Conditions- Industrial environment: indoor/outdoor, extreme temperatures, noise, dust
- Requires PPE, climbing stairs/ladders, and working at heights
- Physical demands include lifting, standing, bending, and kneeling
Education & Experience- High school diploma minimum
- 3+ years manufacturing operations experience
- 1+ year in training/CCD leadership
- 1+ year in Continuous Improvement
- Asset: oilseed processing, grain handling, or refining experience
