About the OpportunityDirect Plus Food Group is looking for a full-time Regional Sales Manager - East based in Ontario. This is a field-based role focused on the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions, with scope to expand across Eastern Canada as the business grows.
Reporting to the Vice President, Sales, you will play a pivotal role in launching and building the Eastern sales division from the ground up, leading a team while driving growth across Ontario and beyond.
In this position, you will be primarily responsible for building, leading, and developing a high-performing sales team while actively driving sales in-market through hands-on leadership, customer engagement, and execution.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Building and hiring a new sales team, creating strong culture, structure, and accountability from day one
- Leading from the front in the field, developing customer relationships and driving sales activity across Ontario
- Growing distribution and securing listings within independent and mid-sized retail chains
- Coaching, mentoring, and motivating team members through hands-on, day-to-day leadership
- Executing and localizing proven sales strategies, promotions, and in-market activations
- Identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities to drive top-line growth
- Collaborating with internal teams to support execution across marketing, logistics, and operations
- Managing regional performance, including forecasting, budgets, and overall business results

About YouTo qualify, you will bring 5+ years of experience in a sales leadership or supervisory role, along with a strong background in the CPG or DSD environment.
The following are required:
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively across Ontario and surrounding regions
- Willingness to work in a field-based, hands-on role with occasional physical demands, including lifting up to 40 lbs
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Experience building or scaling a sales team, ideally from an early or growth-stage environment
- Strong background in CPG sales, particularly within independent or mid-sized retail channels
- Proven ability to drive sales growth through direct, in-market execution
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to develop and execute sales strategies, promotions, and business plans
- Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance management
- Experience working with distributors or within a DSD model
- Proficiency with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM/order management systems
