We are seeking a skilled Residential Construction Excavator to join our client's demolition and construction team. The ideal candidate will operate heavy equipment to assist in residential development projects, ensuring efficient and safe excavation and site preparation. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and the ability to operate various machinery with precision and safety. This is a short term project that could lead to ongoing work.
Responsibilities- Operate excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and other heavy equipment to perform excavation, grading, and site clearing tasks
- Assist with site preparation including trenching, leveling, and grading for foundations and utilities
- Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections and minor mechanical adjustments
- Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for all team members
- Collaborate with project managers and other crew members to meet project deadlines and specifications
- Support paving operations and other finishing tasks as required
- Drive commercial vehicles for material transport or equipment movement when necessary
Qualifications- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and horizontal drilling machinery
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments
- Prior experience in residential construction projects is preferred but not required
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team
