Resource Allocation and Planning Analyst, Strategic Finance Office
Summary:The resource allocation and planning analyst supports advancing the integration of resource allocation, planning, and institutional decision-making by providing financial and analytical expertise. The analyst provides support with respect to financial analysis and planning including modeling, research, forecasts, reporting, and the review of financial trends and budget and activity drivers. Additionally, this role supports the preparation and review of financial information for the purpose of supporting university decision-making bodies and the confirmation of alignment with the detailed budget and resource allocation to colleges and units. Through the execution of their duties, this position liaises with university colleges and support units as well as external agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provides financial expertise to internal decision-making bodies, identifying financial, operational and strategic impacts of projects or initiatives as well as synergies and risks in relation to institutional imperatives, projects or processes.
- Contributes to comprehensive multi-year financial planning, annual financial forecasts, resource allocation, tuition and fee planning, financial resource models, and internal controls.
- Assists with development of financial strategy, analysis and expertise to colleges, units, and committees throughout the university community as well as government ministries, auditors and other external bodies.
- Develops financial modeling and predictive analysis using internal resource allocation models.
- Plans and implements a wide variety of financial planning related projects.
- Prepares financial reports based on modeling for use at various levels of the organization.
- Assists in the coordination and delivery of data and analysis.
- Completes financial transactional processes in accordance with direction, policies and deadlines.
- Works collaboratively with colleagues across the institution to further the university’s priorities articulated in the strategic plan.

Qualifications:- A bachelor’s degree in business, commerce, or finance.
- A professional accounting designation is preferred.
- Minimum of four years of professional experience in the areas of finance or accounting.
- Knowledge of, or experience in, post-secondary education or the public sector is an asset, with an understanding of its financial frameworks and governance structures.
- A demonstrated ability and expertise in accounting, financial analysis and modeling.
- Strong strategic thinking skills.
- A high level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Discretion and professional judgment in working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to research and analyze large volumes of financial and numeric data.
- Ability to prioritize and balance workload to meet deadlines.
