Service Technicians and Apprentices- Location: Lougheed ∙Stettler ∙ Olds ∙High River ∙ Coaldale ∙Dunmore
Hours- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1‑hour unpaid lunch)
- Seasonal overtime and on call as required
About the RoleThe Service Technicians & Apprentices are responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining agricultural equipment in both shop and field settings. This role ensures reliable equipment performance through quality workmanship, effective troubleshooting, and collaboration with service advisors, parts, and customers to minimize downtime and support farm operations.
Key Responsibilities – Service Technician and Apprentices- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic issues on agricultural equipment
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections in both shop and field environments
- Complete preventative maintenance and warranty work in accordance with manufacturer standards
- Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and service software to accurately identify equipment issues
- Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality
- Perform on‑site service calls to diagnose and repair customer equipment in the field
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair findings, timelines, and recommendations
- Support customers during peak seasons to reduce equipment downtime
- Maintain a professional and customer‑focused approach while representing the dealership
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and warranty documentation
- Record parts used, labor time, and service details clearly and consistently
- Communicate with service advisors regarding job status, delays, or additional repair needs
- Work closely with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and other technicians
- Follow service schedules and assist with prioritizing work during busy periods
- Support training efforts and share knowledge with apprentice or junior technicians when required
- Follow all safety policies, procedures, and industry best practices
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and service vehicles
- Use company tools, equipment, and vehicles responsibly and report issues when identified
- Attend brand‑specific technical training as it becomes available to stay current with equipment, systems, and repair standards
- Travel as required to participate in manufacturer training sessions, courses, or certification
