Job OverviewOffice / Sales Assistant – Locally Made Wood Flooring, Countertops & Wood Finishes
Woodland Flooring & Countertops is looking for a friendly, organized, and motivated Office / Sales Assistant to join our small custom wood manufacturing business in the Comox Valley.
We produce and sell locally made wood floors, countertops, stair treads, and related wood products, along with premium German wood finishes. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, has an eye for design, and can help us grow both our showroom and online sales.
About the RoleThis is a varied position that includes customer service, showroom sales, online sales support, social media content creation, and general office/showroom duties. You’ll be helping customers learn about our locally made products, assisting with orders, creating simple online content, and helping keep the showroom running smoothly.
This position will start at a minimum of 3 days per week, with the possibility of more hours as the role grows.
Responsibilities- Assist customers in the showroom with wood flooring, countertops, and finish products
- Help with online sales inquiries, emails, quotes, invoices, and customer follow-ups
- Support sales of our German wood finish products
- Create and post social media content featuring our products, projects, and shop activity
- Help pack, label, and ship customer orders
- Keep the showroom, samples, displays, and staffroom neat and tidy
- Assist with basic office tasks, customer communication, and product information
- Help organize samples, brochures, and sales materials
- Work with our shop team to stay updated on products and timelines
The Right PersonWe are looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable talking with customers
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Interested in wood, design, interiors, construction, or locally made products
- Comfortable using email, basic computer programs, and social media
- Able to write simple posts, take photos, and help create online content
- Willing to help with hands-on tasks like packing orders and tidying displays
- A good communicator who can follow up with customers and keep details organized
- Self-motivated and happy working in a small business environment
Experience in sales, customer service, flooring, design, construction, woodworking, social media, or retail would be helpful, but we are willing to train the right person.
Knowledge of QuickBooks Online is an asset.
