POSITION SUMMARYReporting to the Atkar Division Manager, the Sales Representative (Project Consultant) is responsible for securing sales on the Atkar Acoustical product line in North America. The Sales Representative (Project Consultant) is responsible for sending out formal quotes to contractors at the tender phase, following up regularly and closing those deals. Many opportunities will originate from specifications developed by the Architectural Sales team, and the Sales Representative (Project Consultant) is responsible for converting those specifications into awarded projects. The Sales Representative (Project Consultant) should also look for opportunities to convert competitor specifications where appropriate.
PERSONAThe Sales Representative (Project Consultant) can talk the talk and walk the walk with contractors, especially drywallers, and understands the challenges of the trades. They are on the phone daily, proactively following up with general contractors and drywallers to identify the right contacts and advance active projects. They know the importance of disciplined follow-through and consistent reporting, ensuring every opportunity is tracked and advanced through the pipeline.
They are highly aware of project schedules and are comfortable visiting jobsites to understand how projects are progressing. When meeting contractors, they speak the contractor’s language and quickly build trust, working directly with owners, project managers, and estimators to solve challenges on the spot rather than losing momentum by taking it away.
They are persistent without being pushy, and are results-driven in how they invest their time. They understand how to balance competitiveness with profitability, focusing on opportunities that align with company targets and capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Identify General Constractors & Drywallers that work on desirable projects.
- Maintain relationships with key General Contractors & Drywallers to ensure Atkar is invited to any desirable opportunities.
- Manage territory performance & exceed sales targets.
- Identify and prioritize sales opportunities that align with our operations capacity.
- Follow up on proposals, providing frequent updates, feedback, and closure.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date opportunities, contacts, and activities within the CRM.
- Organize and plan daily and weekly activities.
- Acknowledge client emails within 24 hours of receipt.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related duties, as may be assigned by the senior management team, that are directly related to the job function.
QUALIFICATIONS- 3-5 years of sales experience.
- French proficiency would be considered an asset.
