Security Technology Analyst

MedIT is seeking a Security Technology Analyst to implement, tune, and support security technologies that protect the Faculty’s systems, data, and activities. The role works with the Manager, Information Security and University and IT teams on security monitoring, vulnerability management, access workflows, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security monitoring, SIEM, endpoint protection, firewall, vulnerability management, identity and access management, and related tools.
• Analyze alerts and security events across data sources; conduct initial triage and investigation, gather technical evidence, and escalate incidents.
• Operate vulnerability scanning and assessment tools, review and validate findings, and help identify affected systems and owners.
• Process account provisioning, access changes, suspension, and deprovisioning through approved workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve security operations, incident response, access management, vulnerability tracking, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least four years of relevant experience in information security, security operations, threat analysis, vulnerability management, or identity and access management.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools and security monitoring, SIEM, endpoint, firewall, or detection platforms.
• Experience analyzing logs and alerts, supporting incident investigations, and handling identity lifecycle activities.
• Networking and security knowledge, and proficiency in at least one scripting or automation language such as Python, PowerShell, or shell scripting.

Salary: $84,564 annually, with annual step progression to a maximum of $108,145. Pay scale and job class assignment are subject to the stated job evaluation protocol.
