We are hiring for a Senior Project Engineer, Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF). In this role you will provide technical leadership and oversight to ensure the successful planning, execution, and delivery of all MSF civil and building construction for the Green Line LRT - SE Project. This includes utilities, earthwork, foundations, buildings, drainage, systems duct banks, and other associated work.
As a Senior Project Engineer, MSF, you will lead and coordinate interfaces with systems and track, internal City business units, the Delivery Partner, contractors, and regulatory authorities to support safe, timely, and high - quality construction, commissioning, and handover. You will ensure MSF designs are constructible and contract requirements are met, while achieving project schedule, cost, safety, environmental, and quality objectives.
Primary Duties include:- Lead delivery of the MSF scope to meet project objectives, budget, and schedule in compliance with City of Calgary policies and project standards.
- Provide single-point coordination between MSF contractors, the Delivery Partner, internal teams, and external partners.
- Coordinate integration of Green Line support functions to enable effective MSF delivery.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and direction to project team members and contractor resources.
- Oversee MSF design and construction activities, including review of submittals and field practices to ensure compliance with design requirements, codes, safety, and environmental standards.
- Provide constructability, value management, and technical review of MSF designs, specifications, construction methodologies, and contract changes or claims.
- Manage MSF interfaces across disciplines and contracts to ensure safe, functional, and maintainable integration of project components.
- Monitor MSF delivery performance, including cost, schedule, contract/change management, and compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Proactively identify and manage MSF technical, interface, cost, and schedule risks, including progress reporting and variance tracking.
- Maintain MSF risk registers and issue logs, including mitigation strategies coordinated with the Delivery Partner and contractors.
- Support estimate-at-completion updates, including tracking cost drivers, contingencies, and forecasts.
- Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations to support leadership decision-making on MSF scope, risks, interfaces, and delivery status.
