Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 3 to 12 located in Canada’s capital and on the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. Located in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is currently seeking an experienced Spanish teacher to join our Senior School Modern Languages department. We are seeking someone who is passionate about Spanish culture and literature and who has a history of school and community involvement, promoting belonging, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the classroom, thriving in a busy learning community, and working collaboratively with colleagues. Your teaching practice includes current learning theories, and creative use of technology. Priority will be given to candidates who are Ontario College of Teachers certified.

• An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) with a specialization in Spanish language instruction
• Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification (in good standing), currently in progress toward achieving OCT certification, or demonstrated ability to obtain OCT certification
• Demonstrated experience teaching Ontario Spanish Curriculum
• International Baccalaureate experience

• Demonstrated ability to provide instruction to English Language Learners
• Evidence of teaching that has been enhanced by technology
• Demonstrated commitment to enriching whole school life for students, including promoting pluralism and enhancing student belonging.
• International teaching experience

• Teach full-time (5 classes).
• Lead and participate in co-curricular activities.
• Lead a Teacher Advisory Group.
• Provide on-call coverage as required.
• Actively participate in Department meetings, faculty teaching and learning opportunities, and whole school activities.

The compensation range for this position is $78,200 - $128,000, and could be greater, based on qualifications and years of experience.
