Position: Senior Store Manager

Location: U of T Bookstore, and Faculty of Law Bookstore - St George Campus; + 15% Travel to University of Toronto Scarborough Campus
As the Senior Store Manager, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of retail performance at our St. George and Scarborough Campus locations, including operations, sales, merchandising, campus retail events, and vending programs, leading a collaborative team.
There are 3 physical stores in this portfolio, each anchored by their unique community - the U of T Bookstore flagship in the Koffler Student Center, the Faculty of Law Bookstore (specialized legal course materials) and the U of T Scarborough Bookstore. Retail events occur both in-store and off-site at partner locations. Events include Convocation, author events, and retail pop-ups. The stores are responsible for leading these activities and ensuring the safety and stewardship of these locations in collaboration with the appropriate partners and managers.
Connecting the U of T community with course materials, general merchandise, and products and services that expand ideas beyond the classroom, you’ll be accountable for leading the team to deliver exceptional retail experience, customer service, business growth, and goal alignment to support these categories both in store and online.
You will ensure all activities are executed to achieve retail goals including budget, staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and team engagement. You’ll also collaborate on new business development and growth opportunities with other UTP Bookstore leadership and key stakeholders with the University of Toronto.
You will deliver an outstanding floor presence, customer service and build strong partnerships through a complex network of stakeholders. You will lead hiring, development, and training to ensure operational capacity is optimized. DEI and culture-building are key for this role to build engagement, empower diverse teams, collaborate across the UTP network of stores and divisions, and attract talent from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
This is a full-time salaried position working 7.25 hours daily (36.25 hours weekly), including regular evening and weekend shifts supporting a six-day retail operation.

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000
