Job DescriptionWe are a busy and established Chinese noodle restaurant in Halifax seeking an experienced Specialty Cook specializing in traditional Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles (Lamian).
The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience in authentic noodle preparation techniques and be able to work independently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook traditional Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles
- Perform dough mixing, kneading, resting, and noodle pulling by hand
- Prepare beef broth and related ingredients according to traditional recipes
- Maintain consistent food quality and presentation
- Assist with kitchen prep and daily operations
- Ensure cleanliness and food safety standards are met
Requirements- Minimum 2 years of experience in Chinese hand-pulled noodle preparation
- Strong manual noodle pulling skills (essential)
- Experience in Chinese kitchen operations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic English communication is an asset
Compensation- $30/hour (paid hourly)
- Full-time permanent position
