Job Overview:We are looking for enthusiastic and engaging program instructors to join our Summer 2026 camp team. As a Sports and Outdoor Education Program Instructor, you'll lead children through a variety of land-based sports such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, and outdoor adventure activities like archery, nature walks, and survival skills. You’ll foster teamwork, help children develop new skills, and create memorable, active, and exciting experiences. This role requires strong leadership, energy, and the ability to safely engage children in sports and outdoor activities. Our Ideal Candidate:- Has experience supervising and facilitating programs for children in a camp, recreation, or educational setting.
- Understands different learning styles and can adjust teaching methods to engage all participants.
- Possesses creativity, problem-solving skills, and the ability to make activities fun and encourage others to do the same.
- Is team-oriented, collaborative, and dedicated to providing an exceptional summer experience for both children and fellow staff.
- Has a passion for sports and outdoor education and is able to effectively demonstrate skills, helping children build confidence and improve their abilities.
Job Responsibilities:- Lead engaging sports and outdoor adventure activities, such as soccer, basketball, volleyball, archery, nature walks, and outdoor survival skills for children aged 4-14.
- Foster teamwork, skill development, and positive competition in a supportive and fun environment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children and staff during activities.
- Actively participate in camp-wide programs and daily activities to help create a vibrant, inclusive, and exciting camp experience.
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities tailored to children's needs and abilities.
- Collaborate with other instructors, counselors, and leadership team members to deliver a seamless program.
- Bring energy and enthusiasm to each session, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for all children.
Job Requirements:- Currently a student in a post-secondary institution or recently graduated (preferably in a science, education, or sport-related field).
- At least 1 year of experience facilitating programs for children, ideally in a camp or recreation setting.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with children, demonstrating strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of sports, outdoor education, and/or related recreational activities.
Considered an Asset:- Experience with coaching or planning sports programs.
- Certification in coaching or outdoor education.
Additional Requirements:- Access to a personal device (i.e., laptop) to complete job responsibilities.
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C (required prior to the start of camp)
- Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (required prior to the start of camp)
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 per week
