Senior Director, AI Development

OpenText's AI Development and Enablement organization builds AI solutions for customer-facing products, agents, and intelligent workflows. The Senior Director will report to a VP and lead engineering teams and programs that turn AI initiatives into dependable products, services, and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering delivery across teams, setting milestones and accountability for quality, reliability, and customer outcomes.
- Hire, coach, and develop engineering managers and technical leaders.
- Shape roadmaps with product and architecture leaders, manage capacity and dependencies, and set priorities and investment decisions.
- Lead development of AI solutions, cloud services, platforms, tools, and shared capabilities for enterprise applications.
- Guide incubation from experiments and customer validation through investment decisions and transition into supported capabilities.
- Establish development, operational, documentation, release-readiness, and support practices for shared services.
- Guide technical discussions, promote informed experimentation, build cross-business partnerships, and communicate progress to executives.
Qualifications
- 12+ years in software engineering or a related discipline, delivering complex products and programs across teams.
- Proven people leadership, including developing managers and building technical capability.
- Enterprise software experience, particularly leading platform or cloud programs, is highly desirable.
- Experience guiding an applied AI initiative from experimentation and technical decisions into delivery or adoption.
- Current understanding of applied AI concepts, agent patterns, and development challenges, including model choices, context, orchestration, and evaluation.
- Technical curiosity and experience exploring, experimenting with, or developing AI technologies.
- Sound judgment about AI quality, reliability, security, cost, and operational readiness.
- Strong product partnership, cross-business collaboration, and executive communication skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
