About the Barrett Centre of Technology Innovation at Humber:The Barrett Centre for Technology Innovation is a new facility built to inspire innovation through collaboration and is part of Humber’s Centre of Innovation network. We bring together industry, students and faculty to solve real world challenges and promote science, technology, engineering, art and math outreach with industry and community partners. We work closely with all faculties across Humber to provide the resources they require to complete capstone, applied research projects, experiential Learning activities and support skills development. We are supported by Humber’s Advanced Manufacturing Skills Consortium: some of the leading technology and innovation companies in Canada.
About the Role:Under the Supervision of the Project Manager of the BCTI STEAM Academy, the STEAM Coach provides support on programming, project planning, training and delivery of outreach activities to middle and high school students in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM). The role may include preparing resources, materials and equipment to deliver various STEAM outreach activities. In addition, the role requires supporting the STEAM mentors to deliver various outreach activities that further develop and enhance the programming.
In addition, but not limited to, the incumbent will:- Support STEAM projects, prioritization of tasks and ensuring timelines are met. Lead team meetings.
- Continuous improvement, documentation of existing STEAM outreach programming
- Consult external vendors who provide resources related to STEAM programming.
- Deliver AR/VR workshops and provide ongoing tech support for AR/VR activities and equipment.
- Provide additive manufacturing support for all STEAM-related projects.
- Prepare purchase lists and track item fulfillment.
- Maintaining and troubleshooting technology equipment, including laptops, software applications, and media rooms for filming and virtual production demonstrations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
