Code Ninjas Markham is looking for Summer Camp Instructors (In-Centre) to join our team of dynamic, energetic, forward thinking minds, working toward our common goal: providing a fun and safe learning environment for children. https://www.codeninjas.com/markham-on-ca

Our Summer Camp instructors will oversee our in-center camps. Campers will also learn various topics under the following categories: STEM, Minecraft, Roblox, Basic Game Building/Circuits/Robotics, 3D Design, AI and Machine Learning.

Training Period: May/June

Successful applicants have the potential to extend their contract as a part-time permanent coding instructor at Code Ninjas Markham.

PREFERENCE GIVEN TO THOSE RESIDING IN THE MARKHAM REGION.

CANDIDATES ARE HIRED BASED ON TOPICS LISTED BELOW.

Required Knowledge & Qualifications:

1) Proficient and solid experience in one or more of the following:

• Minecraft: Education Edition and/or MCreator
• Roblox: Roblox Player, Roblox Studio
• Adobe Firefly
• Scratch and/or MakeCode: Block Based Coding
• Lego Robotics: Spike Prime and Essential
• 3D Design and Printing (TinkerCAD)
• STEM
• AI and Machine Learning

2) Current or graduated students from university or college with discipline related to Computer Science, Game Development/Programming/Design, Esport, Robotics, or relevant discipline. Highschool students are welcome to apply given they meet experience listed above.

3) Working history with children ages 7 and up (i.e. camps, mentoring, coaching, tutoring etc.)

4) Must be FUN to work with and like working in fast paced environments where requirements can change frequently

Responsibilities Include:

• Adapting & adjusting ready-made curriculum for week-long camps based on various topics.
• Present camp curriculum to students in a fun and engaging manner.
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow and learn.
• Work with children to determine skill sets and to document their progress.
• Provide feedback to parents after working with students.
• Follow opening/closing duties daily.
• Clean and disinfect facility and equipment throughout the day to ensure cleanliness is kept up to corporate standards
• Report daily to the Camp Director / Center Director / Owner with respect to day’s activities and productivity in classrooms

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $18.00-$21.00 per hour
