PRIMARY FUNCTION:The Wellington Catholic District School Board invites applications from social workers and mental health clinicians for the position of Supervisor of Continuity of Summer Student Mental Health Service and Support. Summer services and supports are for Kindergarten – Grade 12 students who have benefitted from the regular support of mental health professionals and child & youth workers during the school year. These services and support will provide continued monitoring, skills building, programming, or structured mental health support through regularly planned, virtual or in person contacts by staff, or community partnerships through the summer. Services and support will run through July and August, with the actual number of hours dependent upon enrolment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:- Organize, lead and oversee the mental health support services across the district.
- Engage in pre-summer development and planning to align programming with best clinical practices and summer mental health funding requirements.
- Collaborate with staff and community partners to develop and implement programming that aligns with the summer mental health requirements.
- Supervise and support mental health professionals, child and youth workers and community partners in delivering student wellbeing services.
- Prepare and manage the budget according to summer mental health.
- Provide overall support to staff and community service providers providing services and support.
- Liaise with school Administrators and system staff to facilitate services and supports.
- Coordinate transfer of information by program staff to school staff in August.
- Develop data tracking, maintain records, and prepare impact summary reports.
- Work closely with the Mental Health Lead and Senior Manager of Mental Health Services.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:- Hold a Master of Social Work Degree and be in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
- Must be committed to Catholic education.
- Have a minimum of 4-5 years of clinical experience providing mental health support in school, or community setting.
- Have strong knowledge of child and adolescent mental health trends, evidenced-based interventions and community based services.
- Demonstrate strong initiative, leadership, collaboration, and program coordination skills.
