Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be tasked with providing technical assistance to employees and students by answering queries on basic technical issues, providing solutions to solve the problems and training on how to avoid future issues.
We are currently seeking a candidate to fill a newly created position within our team.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties- Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues
- Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
- Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by students and employees
- Walk employees and students through the problem-solving process
- Manage support tickets in a timely manner
Secondary duties- Clearly communicate and provide suggestions and explore solutions to resolve end-user issues
- Create user accounts for various systems for employees and students
- Manage wired, wireless, internet, and remote connectivity in support of all services within the organization. Also responsible for security on all the network connections and devices and services that rely on wireless infrastructure
- Provide off-site locations with regular on-site visits to perform preventive maintenance and ensure that all corporate standards are being practiced.
- Assist with the setup and technical support for on campus initiatives
- Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, operating system software and software applications
- Direct unresolved or complex issues to the next level of support personnel
- Provide remote support for customer networking and I.T. issues
- Prioritize tasks based on current company needs to ensure on-time delivery
- Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
- Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures
- Review and evaluate current and future application need to make recommendations
- Maintain an inventory of all equipment, software and licenses
- Protect confidentiality of student and staff information
- Maintain and enforce corporate security policies
- Maintain and enforce Internet policies
- Participate in and facilitate change management processes
- Other duties as assigned
QualificationsEducationPost secondary education in computer science, computer programming or a related field. Experience will be considered in place of formal education.
ExperiencePrevious experience working within an information technology capacity is an asset but not a requirement. Previous exposure to firewalls, VDIs, VPNs, routers, switches, domains, VoIP, virtual machine environments and IT infrastructure would be beneficial, but not required.

Schedule of work will be 6:00pm – 9:00pm, Monday - Thursday
CompensationThe successful candidate can expect a starting range between $23-$25 per hour.
